Sculpt and define your silhouette with precision fat removal by Dr. Matwa Christopher.
Liposuction is a body contouring procedure, not a weight-loss treatment. It is designed to remove stubborn localised fat deposits that persist despite diet and exercise. Ideal candidates include patients with stubborn fat post diet or weight loss, those seeking fat grafting material for breast, calf, buttock, face, or wound healing augmentation, men pursuing abdominal definition, and ladies wishing to contour before or after childbearing.
At Truffel Healthcare, liposuction is offered in three forms. Lipo-360 addresses the anterior abdomen, flanks, and back under general anaesthesia, with a drain removed around day 3 and a 2-3 day admission. HD Lipo-360 is an extended version refined to sculpt musculoskeletal contours for visible athletic definition. Regional liposuction targets specific areas such as the arms, inner thighs, or chin and can be performed as an office procedure with same-day discharge.
Dr. Matwa Christopher employs VASER (Vibration Amplification of Sound Energy at Resonance) technology combined with the tumescent technique. VASER uses ultrasound energy to liquefy fat before removal, resulting in reduced post-operative pain, better skin tone contraction, and faster recovery. For BBL patients, VASER-harvested fat achieves up to 90% retention due to preservation of nano-particles. Between 1 and 6 litres can be removed safely in a single session; volumes beyond 6 litres may require blood transfusion and are planned accordingly.
Indicative Cost
Regional liposuction from Ksh 300,000. Lipo-360 from Ksh 450,000 to Ksh 650,000.
Liposuction addresses specific, localised fat deposits that diet and exercise cannot resolve - delivering precisely the contour improvement you are looking for.
By removing excess fat from strategic areas, the procedure reveals the underlying muscular definition and creates a smoother, more sculpted silhouette.
Liposuction uses tiny incisions (3-5mm) through which the cannula is inserted. These heal to small, barely visible marks that fade further over time.
Fat cells removed by liposuction do not regenerate. As long as a healthy lifestyle is maintained, results are permanent - making liposuction a durable investment.
Several treatment zones - for example, abdomen, flanks, and thighs - can be addressed in a single procedure, reducing total downtime and anaesthesia exposure.
Tumescent technique means less bleeding and bruising. Most patients return to light daily activities within a week and feel substantially recovered within 2-3 weeks.
Dr. Matwa Christopher follows a systematic, safety-first approach to liposuction - ensuring precise fat removal with optimal aesthetic outcomes and minimal recovery time.
A detailed pre-operative consultation assesses your target areas, skin quality, and fat distribution. Treatment zones are clearly marked on standing skin to guide precise fat removal and ensure symmetrical results.
A tumescent solution - saline combined with a local anaesthetic (lidocaine) and a vasoconstrictive agent (adrenaline) - is infused into the treatment area. This numbs the tissue, constricts blood vessels to minimise blood loss, and causes the fat to swell for easier removal.
Small incisions (3-5mm) are made and a thin hollow tube (cannula) is inserted. The cannula is moved in controlled, fanning motions to dislodge and suction out fat cells. Dr. Matwa works in multiple planes to ensure smooth, even contours without surface irregularities.
Incisions are closed and a medical-grade compression garment is fitted immediately post-procedure. You receive detailed recovery instructions, medications, and a follow-up schedule before discharge. The garment supports healing and helps the skin conform to its new contour.

Wear the compression faja or belt continuously. For Lipo-360, a drain is in place and removed around day 3. Expect swelling, bruising, and fluid drainage from incision sites. Rest at home. Pain is well managed with prescribed medications.
Lymphatic massage sessions begin to reduce swelling and optimise contour. Adjuvant massage with warm compression, high-frequency sonic devices, and supplements (Vitamin C, Vitamin B complex, Magnesium) support recovery.
Most patients with desk-based or light work return to routine during this phase. Continue wearing the compression faja as directed, up to 10 weeks total. Avoid high-intensity exercise until cleared at follow-up.
Definitive results become clearly visible at 12 weeks as residual swelling fully resolves. Skin adapts and tightens over treated areas. Exercise can be resumed fully. Results are permanent provided weight is maintained.
